Hikeman Purple Pouch

I'm slowly but surely swapping out my older pouches for these Hikeman ones, they're made of UHMWPE fabric, so aside from the non waterproof zippers they're pretty water proof. They weigh very little, they're flexible and strong. I bought the purple one in March 2025 and was so impressed with it ordered a few more.

This purple one is a lightweight chest pouch for a rucksack and has a strap so you can wear it as a bumbag or cross body bag. It's a 1.5l pouch, it's 210x130x45mm. The main compartment is zipped and is a single pouch, it's lined in standard yellow nylon fabric. There's a stretchy mesh pocket on the front, I use it to hold the stral when it's not attached.

Round the back are two elastic straps ideal for molle webbing and a couple of nylon straps with small carabiners to attach to the shoulder straps of a rucksack. There's enough room in the pouch for your phone, keys, wallet, and anything else you want to keep handy out of your main bag. When you attach the waist strap to these the pouch turns into a bumbag/crossbody bag.

The construction of the pouch is sound, no fraying seams, no tears, no uneven stitching and it's a nice uniform shape when you pack it full. The strap clips hold the pouch onto your rucksack, across the shoulder straps. They're easy to get on and off again, the spring is strong enough to keep it well latched but easy to operate, even with gloves on. The material is mostly waterproof, so your stuff is dry inside in all bar the most dramatic downpours.

The material is relatively quiet so it doesn't rustle when you use it. The zip has a weatherproof coating, it's not a sealed zip. It does let in a small amount of water if it gets soaking wet. If it's pouring down, I put my phone in a ziplock bag, that way I know it's dry. Don't let the zip leak put you off, it's not a lot and it only happens when it's been raining for ages.

Hikeman Green Pouch

This green pouch is a triangle shape with a wide base and narrow top. It makes a perfect wash kit bag. Its slightly bigger than the purple one 220x160x80mm it's about 2l capacity. Outside is a non stretchy nylon mesh pocket. The main pouch has a couple of stretchy mesh pockets, ideal for small or delicate things. The rest of the main pouch is lined in yellow nylon fabric, sounds daft but it makes it easy to see things in it.

It came with a strap and can double as a cross body bag, the shape of it is quite feminine so I use it for wash stuff! I always take toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, suncream and moisturiser. Depending on where I'm going and for how long I often take a small silicone bottle of shampoo, some hair product and maybe even aftershave. This little lightweight bag keeps everything tidy, stands on it's base without falling over when you're rooting about in it. It's waterproof so splashes and wet things going in it is fine.

Hikeman Small Orange Pouch

These little orange pouches are thin rectangles. They makes perfect Dad First Aid Kits, but they're handy for keeping small things together in a bigger bag. They're about 150x95x15mm and have a capacity of about .25l. The material is very flexible, so they can accomodate things deeper than 15mm by sacrificing length. They're made out of UHMWPE so are waterproof(ish) the zips are standard zips, so they water resistance stops on them.
