Formula is another Vekoma, a Space Warp model. It's at the far edge of the front side of the park on Formula Plaza. It's themed round F1. The train is F1 inspired. 2 x 2 riders in each car, 4 cars per train. Train is very similar to Abyssus, you sit on it rather than in it, vest restraints, so you feel open and free to wriggle about.

The ride starts with a launch through a smoke cloud at the end of a tunnel, into a vertical loop. The launch is smooth and there's some hang at the top of the loop.

Formula is quite a short ride (560m according to RCDB), and like most of the rides at Energylandia it's very smooth. There's two corkscrew inversions and plenty of banked turns. After the first corkscrew it whizzes through a tent upto an off side banked hill before cutting back up into the second corkscrew.

The queue line follows the back of the track alongside one of the splash battle rides, so on a warm day you often get a cooling splash over the fence. The queue follows the outside of the fabric tunnel before cutting in under the track. You can get some great photos in the queue line.

The first time we came, Formula was Mitch's favourite ride, he rode it probably 15 times, over our next few trips, it's slipped down his list to be replaced by Hyperion, Abyssus & Zadra, but it's still number 4. It's a decent ride, very smooth, it lives on the border between a family and thrill coaster.

The Vekoma trains, seats, restraints and bogies are enjoyable for me, there's plenty of room to sit in each row even if you're equipped with long legs, the vest restraints are comfortable and free enough that you feel free. There's handles out the front but you know you're going to have your arms in the air most of the way round.

There's a pizza restaurant on the plaza, one of the things that strikes me about Energylandia is the quality of the food it sells. The pizza here is way better than the big UK takeaways, I'm talking hand stretched, decent toppings, well cooked and very reasonably priced. When I compare it to the offerings at UK theme parks it's a different league.
