Zadra

Intense from the moment it starts to climb the lift hill and doesn't let up until the end of the brake run.

You can see Zadra for miles around as you drive to Energylandia. When you first catch site of it from over by Formula, you know you're in for an experience.

When you crest the lift hill you drop into a pretty much vertical drop and into the first of many head chop moments as you hurtle into the structure of the coaster.

For your first few rides you've no idea where you're going of what comes next. The ride is one element after the next with no dead spots. People rave about the stall element, but my favourite is the whip round to an outer bank turn at the top of the structure above the ride station, then the whip back to another dart through the main structure (video below). The ejection force you feel is unreal.

The trains on the ride have lap and lower leg restraints which I (197cm) found remarkably comfortable, your upper body is totally free you feel well secured by the restraints but there's plenty of room to get ejected and floated out of the seat as the train thunders round the track.

The trains are very flexible, there's a couple of parts on the ride where the front seats are facing out and the back are facing in. This all adds to the feeling of speed on the ride.

For me, it's the stand out ride at the park. Hyperion is good, as is Abyssus, but this is outstanding. I can't remember how many times we rode it, but I never came of it thinking anything other than that was amazing.

The queue line is a bit of a mooch, but it's a world class coaster, they need it to be long to be able to deal with people. We didn't wait more than about 20 minutes to ride it, but having ridden it, if the wait is 1 hour, do it it's worth it. If it's 2 hours, do it, it's worth it. In fact if you only get to ride one coaster here, do it, it's worth it. The best coaster I've ever been on.

The only place I didn't sit is on the front row, we got a row 2 ride at the end of the day which was amazing, it gets faster as it warms up through the day. We got to ride it in the dark too, which added a whole, it's dark vibe to it. My favourite seat is at the back, that whip over the first drop and then seeing the train flexing at each car. Mind blowing.
