Pin hole camera
We had an eclipse, we made a pin hole camera. The feint lines you can see in the sun are the power lines a couple of streets back from us. I'm amazed that a sheet of foil with a hole pricked in it is able to resolve power lines in front of the sun.
The sun is about 150,000,000km away, the moon is about 400,000km away, the power lines are about 250m away. A hole poked in a piece of tin foil was able to geometrically sort all of that light into an image. A power line probably 30mm thick backlit by a 1.4 million km wide lamp, projected onto a sheet of paper.
